Welcome to Stoneycroft Medical Centre
With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
CRISIS IN GENERAL PRACTICE
General practice makes 90% of all NHS patient contacts for just over 8% of the budget. GP’s see more than 1.3m patients across the UK every day. We provide the most cost-effective care in the NHS, and the care our patients want – but we need the resources to be able to do this.
Unfortunately, since April 2016, this Practice has been significantly underfunded for the services we are contracted to provide. This has resulted in us now being unable to replace Dr Maria Jones and our healthcare assistant Jayne who left the Practice in 2016.
We are still providing our full services and offering well in excess of the amount of appointments we are contracted to provide. However, this is less appointments than we have been able to provide in the past.
Despite this funding crisis we will continue to provide the excellent primary care services our patients deserve, it just may take us a little bit longer to provide routine appointments.
This situation is beyond our control. We would suggest if you are unhappy with the cuts to NHS funding and the impact this has on the services you receive you take this up with your local MP.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation during these difficult times.
Drs Bainbridge, Cassidy, Buhrs & Waller.
All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working in Stoneycroft Medical Centre in the last financial year (2015/16) was £45,404.00 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 1 full time GP and 3 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
GP Patient Survey
The Patient Survey July 2016 has recently been published and we are pleased to announce that we have ranked in the top 10 practices in the city for overall experience as reported by our patients.
We at the Practice have worked hard to ensure that patients are treated at all points with respect and dignity. This is from first contact with receptionists on the phone, at the desk and being directed to other services to shared decision making with clinicians and leaving feeling that their concerns have been addressed.
Thank you to our patients for their positive feedback. We will continue to do all we can to develop and improve our services.
